What could be bad about pasta, pizza, fresh fish and gelato on the beach? Thursday night’s Italian Bites on the Beach kicked off the action at SOBEWFF. The selection of food was more diverse than years past and the lines were shorter making for a great night. Everyone lined up to meet the hostesses Valerie Bertinelli and Alex Guarnaschelli and sample their lasagna and ricotta toast.  But some of the best food of the night came from hometown fave chef Michael Schwartz who brought a pizza oven to the beach where they were serving up hot and fresh eggplant and short rib pizza from Harry’s Pizzeria, plus down at the other end of the tent was some amazing barbecued cobia on a skewer from his newest restaurant Fi’lia at SLS Brickell.
